Intensive Final Presentation
Notes from Presentation:
Herb liked the notch that creates the micro-plaza next to the entrance of the mall.
What will the skin conditions to the structure look like?
How does the skin interact with the structure?
What is the relationship with the long ribs?
Building designed in plan but “flare” doesn’t come across in model
Make more spatial and 3D, not so linear to move around the site
Think about how and when people are watching making discrete conditions versus movie screen feel
Show sequence of sections and how building reacts
Is scale of floor to floor intentional? CR thinks they don’t talk to each other.
Who says divisional elements need to be vertical?
Model shows right angle at club corner and drawings show angle accurate
Look at what’s working, shifting angles and planes
Different vantage points with shifting planes
Look at Zaha Hadid’s fire station
Stairs aren’t large enough to take people from level to level
Pick 3 places in plaza and see what/where you want to go
Plans are great, bring sections to same level of detail and thought, this will help to inform project
Night club on street level, dead space inside? What is it during the day?
Need more opportunities to watch and be watched.
Can site be mirrored to address vehicular traffic?
